Managing Director Peakhill Equity Partners
Jonah Belkin is a Partner and Managing Director of Peakhill Equity Partners, Peakhill’s equity investment platform. Jonah leads sourcing, structuring, and execution of all of Peakhill’s equity investments, with a focus on ground-up and value-add development projects.
Prior to founding Peakhill Equity Partners, Jonah was at Tricon Residential, where he led origination, underwriting, and asset management for Tricon Residential’s development business in the U.S., as well as other investment initiatives. Prior to this, Jonah was a Senior Vice President at AECOM Capital in New York City focused on Co-GP real estate investments, and also worked in real estate at Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan.
Jonah holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University and a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University. He is a member of the ULI Urban Revitalization Council and the Cornell Real Estate Council.
Managing Director Peakhill Capital
Harley Gold is a Partner and Managing Director of Peakhill Capital. Harley has closed in excess of $17 billion in loans in over 3,500 deals over the past 20 years in Canada and the US. Harley has extensive financing experience on all asset types including multi-family, CMHC, senior housing, retail, industrial, hospitality, and land development.
Prior to founding Peakhill Capital, Harley was the Vice-President of Business Development at CMLS Financial for 11 years originating for institutional and pension accounts such as RBC and PHN. Harley also worked for 6 years for a US mortgage banking firm and was successful bringing 3 new US lenders to Canada.
Harley holds a Master of Business Administration from Canisius and BA Economics for University of Toronto. Harley is a founding director and chairman of the board of Lighthouse Credit Union, a new credit union approved by FSRA in 2022 focused on servicing the Jewish community.
Senior Vice President, Head of Canadian Equity
Ira Markus is the Senior Vice President, Head of Canadian Equity of Peakhill Capital Inc. and Peakhill Equity Partners, providing oversight across Peakhill’s business lines for finance, capital, equity structuring and asset management functions.
Ira has over 15 years experience in development and real estate finance roles, spanning every major asset class. For eight years prior to joining Peakhill, he was Vice-President at Canadian real estate private equity firm Harbour Equity, growing the platform to a JV development manager with $2 billion+ of completed real estate value under administration. Prior to Harbour, Ira had financial advisory roles with a family-held seniors housing developer with projects in Canada and the United States, and for retail-commercial developer SmartCentres.
Ira is a graduate of the University of Toronto, holds an MBA from the DeGroote School of Business, and is a licensed mortgage agent.
Vice President Peakhill Equity Partners
Paul Heydweiller is Vice President on the Peakhill Equity Partners team focusing on sourcing, underwriting, and executing new equity investments in Canada and the United States. He brings to the role over 10 years of experience in real estate development, investments, and consulting.
Paul joined Peakhill from prominent New York City multifamily developer/manager Rose Associates, where he helped lead the acquisition, development, and financing of the firm’s $2 billion development pipeline encompassing 3 million square feet and nearly 2,000 residential units. Prior to Rose Associates, Paul has worked for the Related Companies in Chicago and a boutique valuation consulting firm in Southern California.
Paul holds Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame, and a Master in Real Estate Development from Cornell University.
Senior Associate
Ryan Goren is a Senior Associate on the Peakhill Equity Partners team focusing on underwriting and executing new equity investments in Canada and the United States. He brings over 10 years of experience in real estate investment, asset management and banking.
Prior to joining Peakhill Equity Partners, Ryan was an Asset Manager with Emma Capital, where he managed a value-add portfolio and acquisitions of large US multi-family properties across the Atlanta and Nashville markets. Prior to this, Ryan was with Scotiabank’s Commercial Real Estate Lending group in Toronto where he managed $1B in real estate loans across a range of multi-family, construction financing, industrial and retail assets.
Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Ontario, and an MBA from the Ivey Business School. Ryan is a licensed realtor with the Real Estate Council of Ontario.
Associate Vice President, Capital Markets
Josh Robins is Associate Vice President on the Capital Markets team at Peakhill Capital & Peakhill Equity Partners (PEP) and is responsible for the firm’s capital raising efforts and strategic partnerships for PEP’s co-gp and JV equity deals throughout Canada and the United States.
Prior to joining Peakhill Capital, Josh worked at Lastman’s Bad Boy as an Account Manager in the commercial division focussed on single and multi-family developments. He was pivotal to the commercial division’s significant growth in his time there. He gained valuable experience working with developers and construction managers. Prior to Lastman’s Bad Boy Josh was an Associate on the origination team at CMLS Financial, focussing on underwriting and due diligence.
Josh graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He also holds of Master of Management from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
